Meet Precious Pink! She is a girl who has only ever seen the world in one color...pink! An explorer at heart, she sets out in her father's boat on an epic adventure. She is only given one rule: do not cross the boundary waters, danger lies there.
Precious accidentally finds herself on the wrong side of the water where the dolphins no longer shimmer in pink. It is uncharted territory that no one in history has ever entered before...nor returned from.
Drawing from her knowledge of sailing, she has to find a way to survive. The goal is to make it home without being caged by the strange and unexpected creatures she meets along the way. What will she find out there? What will find her?!
Precious Pink is a charming chapter book for grades 2-5 with beautifully hand-painted illustrations. It carries educational undertones of social and ethnic disparities in a way that encourages acceptance of others despite their differences. There is a bonus educational section at the end which explains for kids the science of how we see color.

Perfect Pink!

For the youthful reader this book awakens a helpful perspective on stereotyping and rising above bullying.
It encourages forward-thinking, all couched in a compelling book that is hard to put down once you pick it up.
And it all dangles from the color pink!
I enjoyed this story- fun main character

I enjoyed this story- fun main character, interesting premise, (highlighted by colorful pictures,) and a nice lesson about people's appearances not being the important thing to focus on. I am looking forward to sharing it with my kids.
